A three-year defenseman for the Pioneers from 2011-14, Scott Mattera will patrol the sidelines as an assistant coach for the LIU Post men's lacrosse team in 2015.

In 37 career appearances for the green and gold, Mattera scooped up 79 ground balls and caused 30 turnovers. As a senior, he helped the Pioneers to an East Coast Conference title and their first NCAA Division II National Championship appearance since 2010.

LIU Post boasted a 28-15 record in Mattera's tenure as a player, which translates to a .651 winning percentage. His only career point was an assist at Chestnut Hill on May 5, 2012.

Mattera, who graduated with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education from LIU Post in 2014, resides in West Islip, N.Y.
