Joe Costello is in his first season as an assistant coach with the LIU Post men's lacrosse team.

Costello joins the sidelines of the Pioneers after spending two years as a player for the green and gold. In his career with LIU Post, Costello scored 45 goals and tabulated 54 points overall.

He was an integral part of the 2014 NCAA Division II National Championship runner-up squad, as he scored 29 goals and started in the national title game against Limestone. Costello also scored four goals in the NCAA National Quarterfinal match-up at Le Moyne, leading the Pioneers to a 9-3 victory. He was tabbed as an All-ECC Honorable Mention player for his efforts.

Before arriving in Brookville, Costello was a mainstay on the club lacrosse team at the University of Saint Thomas in his hometown of Minneapolis, Minn. He was a four-time MCLA All-American with the Tommies.
