Dr. Tim Carr was a true Pioneer for LIU Post athletics. A two-sport athlete, Carr was a member of the LIU Post football team and spent one season as a pitcher for the Pioneer baseball team. Four decades later, Carr remains as one of the greatest quarterbacks in LIU Post football history. As a standout on the gridiron in the late 1960s, Carr compiled 5,150 passing yards, a mark that still stands as the sixth-most yards for a career in program history. His best season came as a senior when he registered 2,574 yards through the air, ranking ninth best for a single-season at LIU Post.
Following his big senior season, Carr was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams during the 12th round of the 1969 National Football League draft. After his time with the Rams, he spent time playing in the Continental Football League for the Long Island Bulls, Jersey Jays and Quad City Mohawks until 1975.
Carr graduated from LIU Post in 1969 with a degree in business management. After three years of professional football, he returned to school at the Palmer College of Chiropractic and graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree in 1975. During his professional career, he started his own practice, Carr Chiropractic Inc.,
