No. 6 Women's Soccer Shuts Out Stonehill, 1-0

NORTH EASTON, Mass. (Oct. 1, 2008)- Sophomore Ivana Babic (Haninge, Sweden) scored her seventh goal of the season to push the C.W. Post women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory of Stonehill College in a non-conference match-up Wednesday afternoon.
C.W. Post tallied its second straight win, improving to an overall record of 8-1-0. This was the third straight loss for the Skyhawks, dropping them to an overall record of 3-5-1.
Both teams held each other scoreless through the first half. Babic's goal came as teammate Lindsey Nick (Hauppauge, N.Y.) tallied her third assist of the season. Nick fed Babic who nailed a shot from approximately twenty yards out.
Keeper Sarah Hickey had seven saves in net for Stonehill College. Freshman goalkeeper Allie Weiser (Grand Island, N.Y.) also had seven saves to earn herself the win, and her fourth shutout of the season.
The Pioneers are back in action as they host conference rival Concordia College Saturday at noon on Robert Blitz Field.
