Men's Soccer Battles St. Thomas Aquinas to 0-0 Double Overtime Tie

SPARKILL, N.Y. (Oct. 18, 2008) – Freshman goalkeeper Demetrios Touros (Astoria, N.Y.) made nine saves in goal as men's soccer tied the host St. Thomas Aquinas Spartans in double overtime, 0-0, on Saturday afternoon.
Despite 13 shots for the Pioneers and 23 for the Spartans, neither team was able to find the back of the net, as the Pioneers move to 6-7-1 and 1-4-1 in the East Coast Conference.
The Pioneers held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks. Freshman David Carlsson (Gothenburg, Sweden) led C.W. Post with three shots on the day.
Head coach Dieter Ficken and the Pioneers return to action on October 21 as they travel to Mercy College for an ECC matchup.
