Escobar Named ECC Men's Soccer Player of the Week
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Sept. 15, 2008) - Senior forward Julian Escobar (Hicksville, N.Y.) was named the ECC Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Escobar scored a hat trick in the Pioneers' first win of the season, a 4-1 victory over visiting Nyack College. All three of his goals came within a three minute time span, including one penalty shot. In C.W. Post's 1-0 victory over New Haven, Escobar's shot deflected off a Charger defender for the only goal of the game, giving the Pioneers their second win in as many games.
Escobar and the Pioneers will look to continue their winning ways as they travels to The College of New Jersey on Sept. 17 for a 3 p.m. matchup.
