Nann's Penalty Stroke Leads Field Hockey Past Millersville, 1-0

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. (Sept. 6, 2008) - Sophomore forward
Amanda Nann (Hamburg, N.J.) scored on a penalty stroke with nine minutes remaining in the second half, as the Pioneers shut out the Millersville Marauders by a 1-0 count.
The win improves the eighth-ranked Pioneers to 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, while Millersville drops to 0-2 and 0-1 in the conference.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Cortney Colern (Barker, N.Y.) had an excellent game, making seven saves in the win for her second shutout of the season.
The Pioneers were outshot by a 12-6 count and also saw the Marauders hold a 12-11 edge in penalty corners.
C.W. Post returns home to host Assumption on Sunday, Sept. 7 in a 2 p.m. match-up.
