Flanagan Earns ECC Player Of The Week Nod
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Oct. 12, 2009)- C.W. Post men's soccer graduate student
Shane Flanagan (Dublin, Ireland) was named East Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week Monday afternoon, helping the Pioneers to two wins last week.
Flanagan posted a 2-0 record on the week in goal, making 17 saves in 180:00 minutes and allowing only one goal for a .944 save percentage and a .50 goals allowed average. Flanagan posted a season-high 13 saves in preserving a 1-0 Pioneer victory at Queens College, the followed with four saves in C.W. Post's 3-1 victory over Molloy.
The Pioneers improved to 6-5-1 overall and moving over .500 for the first time this season.
C.W. Post is off until Saturday, as they play host to ECC opponent St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday at 2 p.m.
