Babic Earns CoSIDA/ESPN Academic First Team All-District Accolades
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Nov. 2, 2009) – The CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District announced All-District teams and junior Ivana Babic (Haninge, Sweden) was named to the First Team.
Babic, an Economics major, was one of two women's soccer players from the East Coast Conference to receive First Team honors. She is joined on the list by University of Bridgeport forward Sofia Hoflin (Ostersund, Sweden).
Babic was twice voted ECC Offensive Player of the Week this season and has been an instrumental part of the Pioneer offense, leading C.W. Post to an overall 12-5-1 record. She currently leads her team in scoring with 10 goals and six assists for a total of 26 points. She has accumulated four game winning goals this season and appeared in the starting lineup for all 18 of the Pioneers' contests.
She has demonstrated her drive and determination in the classroom as well, maintaining a 3.96 GPA during her college career thus far.
C.W. Post is set to host Dowling College in the ECC semifinals on Friday, Nov. 6 at Robert Blitz Field. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
