BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Feb. 11, 2009) – The C.W. Post women's basketball team will take part in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) “Pink Zone” breast cancer awareness initiative during Saturday's contest against the University of Bridgeport.
The WBCA began the WBCA Pink Zone™, formerly known as "Think Pink", in 2007 as an initiative to raise breast cancer awareness in women's basketball, on campuses and in communities.  In 2007, more than 120 schools unified for this effort and helped make the inaugural year a success.  In 2008, over 1,200 teams and organizations participated, reaching over 830,000 fans and raising over $930,000 for breast cancer awareness and research.

The C.W. Post women's basketball team, coaches and staff will participate by wearing the color pink and raffling off t-shirts  as well as a team signed basketball to support the cause.

The Pioneers ask that you join them in the fight by wearing pink to the game. Tip-off is slated for 1:30 p.m. with the men's basketball game following at 3:30 p.m.
