Men's Soccer Falls To No. 11 Southern New Hampshire, 2-0, In Season Opener

MANCHESTER, N.H. (August 27, 2009) – The C.W. Post men's soccer team dropped its season opener to Southern New Hampshire, 2-0, Thursday evening.
SNHU's sophomore forward Ethan Lapierre (Manchester, N.H.) scored the resulting game-winner in the 11th minute. The Penmen put the game away with their second goal in the 74th minute scored by Daniel Hernandez (Salem, N.H.) on a pass from Cornelius Ilea.
Southern New Hamsphire outshot C.W. Post by a 16-5 margin while the Pioneers held a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Senior Sean Lambert (Rehobeth, Mass.) recorded his first shutout of the season with four stops in goal for the Penmen. Senior Shane Flanagan (Lattingtown, N.Y.), in his debut in a Pioneer uniform, made five saves in goal.
C.W. Post will resume action Aug. 29 at Franklin Pierce University at 1 p.m.
