Millersville Shuts Out Field Hockey, 4-0

MILLERSVILLE, Penn. (Sept. 12, 2009) – Millersville scored four unanswered goals to push past the C.W. Post field hockey team, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon in PSAC field hockey action.
C.W. Post slips to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the PSAC, while Millersville improves to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in PSAC action.
Julia Garber struck first with an unassisted tally at 19:13, and Krista Bupp scored just two minutes later at 21:43 on an assist of Kristie Testa.
Ashley Weber scored at 24:56 on an Emily Woodland assist, and Testa scored the fourth goal of the game in the 63rd minute, courtesy of another Woodland assist.
Pioneer junior goalkeeper Cortney Colern (Barker, N.Y.) made eight saves in the loss. The Pioneers were outshot 23-17 and Millersville held a 19-5 edge in penalty corners.
C.W. Post returns to action on Sunday, September 13, as they host a non-conference game with Franklin Pierce, starting at 1 p.m.
