Field Hockey Falls To No. 7 East Stroudsburg, 1-0, In Season Opener

)- Junior Kayla Cilenti (Flanders, N.J.) scored the game winning goal in the 45th minute off a pass from teammate Catilin Browley (Biglerville, Pa.)to lead the No. 7 East Stroudsburg Warriors past the C.W. Post Pioneers, 1-0, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference matchup Saturday afternoon.
The game was the season home opener for the Pioneers, who fall to a record of 0-1, while East Stroudsburg improves to 3-1 overall, 1-0 in conference play.
Pioneers' goalkeeper Cortney Colern (Barker, N.Y.) made a total of six saves in net for the afternoon. East Stroudsburg keeper Maureen Ordnung (Honesdale, Pa. tallied 10 saves in goal to earn the shut out.
C.W. Post outshot East Stroudsburg 13-9 and held a 9-8 advantage in corners.
Head Coach Raenee Savin's Pioneers return to the field Sept. 9 as they host Bloomsburg University in a PSAC contest at 4 p.m.
