Balanced Offense Leads Women's Basketball Past Washington Adventist, 94-31

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Jan. 3, 2010)
– The C.W. Post Pioneers won their sixth straight game with a 94-31 win over Washington Adventist in the final game of the University of the District of Columbia Women's Basketball Classic Sunday afternoon at the Sports Complex.
 
C.W. Post improves to 9-3 overall while Washington Adventist falls to 0-14 on the season.
 
Sophomore guard Felicia Joyner (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) led the Pioneers with 19 points while junior guard Janea Aiken (St. Albans, N.Y.) added 18. Junior forward Nicole Marciniak (Brooklyn, N.Y.) chipped in 15 points.
 
C.W. Post shot a season-best .603 (38 of 63) from the floor and held a 42-23 advantage on the boards. 
 
The Pioneers also held a 33-6 advantage in assists and senior guard Gina Catherall (Bayside, N.Y.) was credited with 12. Junior forward Alyssa Lombardi (New Fairfield, Conn.) pulled down 11 rebounds.
 
Freshman guard Quianna Tiggle (Bowie, Md.) led the Shock with 10 points.
 
The Pioneers jumped out to a 13-0 lead to start the game and quickly built a sizeable lead. At the half, the Pioneers led 51-15.
 
C.W. Post returns to action Jan. 9 to host St. Thomas Aquinas for a 1:30 p.m. tipoff.
