ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Oct. 21, 2010)
– Junior midfielder David Carlsson (Gothenburg, Sweden) tallied a pair of goals and an assist to lead C.W. Post past Molloy College, 4-1, in an East Coast Conference men's soccer match Thursday afternoon at Dean Skelos Complex.

C.W. Post improves to 6-6-1 overall and 3-2 in the ECC. Molloy slips to 2-11 and 0-5 in conference play.

The Pioneers took a 2-0 lead in the first half, beginning in the 24th minute when freshman forward Joakim Ohlson (Lund, Sweden) scored on a header off a rebound shot from senior forward Ruben Kerekov (Sofia, Bulgaria).

C.W. Post scored again minutes later when Carlsson took a pass from senior midfielder Kosroh Panah (Helsingborg, Sweden) and dribbled through the box before beating out the goalkeeper on a 1-on-1 and putting the ball in the goal.

At the half, Molloy held a 6-3 advantage on corner kicks but could not put a shot on goal.

In the second half, Molloy cut the deficit to one in the 73rd minute when Dan Brown picked up a long pass from Mike Adamcewicz and beat out the defense and goalkeeper for the score.

But that was as much offense as the Lions could muster. The Pioneers added two insurance goals in the half, first when Carlsson took a cross pass from senior forward Emanuel Messina (Lynbrook, N.Y.) and drilled it into the net in the 78th minute. Messina added his own goal in the 83rd minute when he took a long cross from Carlsson on the right wing and headed it past the goalkeeper.

Freshman Marco Jorgensen (Copenhagen, Denmark) faced four shots on goal and made three stops in goal to secure the win for the Pioneers. Michael Hunter faced eight shots on goal and recorded four saves.

C.W. Post is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 23 when it faces Mercy College on the road with kickoff slated for 3 p.m.
