No. 3 Bloomsburg Shuts Out Field Hockey, 4-0
BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (Nov. 13, 2010) –Four players each scored a goal to lead third-ranked Bloomsburg University past C.W. Post, 4-0, Saturday afternoon in a PSAC East field hockey contest.
Bloomsburg improves to 16-2 overall while C.W. Post ends its season with a 9-10 overall mark.
The Huskies tallied their first goal when Amanda Riley scored on a reverse high chip shot at 24:02. Bloomsburg added another goal seconds later when Nicole Bruce put the ball into the lower left corner on a pass from Brieann Wolfe at 24:38.
Bloomsburg added one more goal before the end of the first half when Brittany Matthews scored on a cross pass from Bruce.
The Pioneers attempted to get on the board in the second as Helene Bruckner and Carlee Dragon each got shots off before they were saved by Husky goalkeeper Meghan Hollenbach.
Bloomsburg scored one more goal before the end of the game when Wolfe chipped in a shot from Amanda Riley at 53:33.
The Huskies outshot the Pioneers, 23-5, in the game.
Senior Cortney Colern (Barker, N.Y.) made 10 saves in goal for the Pioneers.
