No. 8 Millersville Shuts Out No. 10 Field Hockey, 2-0

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. (Nov. 2, 2010) – The No. 10 C.W. Post field hockey team fell 2-0 to No. 8 Millersville University in a PSAC East matchup Tuesday afternoon on Chryst Field.
Millersville improves its overall record to 9-9 and 2-5 in division play. The loss drops C.W. Post to 8-9 overall and 1-6 in the PSAC East.
The Marauders took a 1-0 lead late in the first half when Jessica Cave hit the back of the cage on a pass from Melissa McCarthy at 29:09.
The Pioneers had an opportunity to tie the game at the end of the half on a penalty stroke but senior defender Vicky DeRosa's (Wading River, N.Y.) missed the target.
Millersville tacked on another score in the second half when Emily Manwiller scored off a penalty corner at the 40-minute mark.
C.W. Post finished the game outshooting Millersville, 22-8, and had a 13-6 advantage on penalty corners.
The Pioneers will return to action for their final home game of the season against Indiana University (Pa.) on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 12 p.m. on Hickox Field.
