Six Pioneers Named To USILA All-America Teams
BALTIMORE (May 25, 2010) – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association announced its selections for All-America teams and No. 1 C.W. Post has six players selected.
Schmidt, a two-time All-ECC selection and Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American, has 23 caused turnovers and 41 ground balls on defense and also scored a goal earlier this season against Dowling. In the rematch against the Golden Lions, he caused four turnovers and picked up three ground balls.
Blount, a two-time All-ECC selection and two-time USILA All-American, has 24 caused turnovers this season and 22 ground balls. He was also credited with an assist earlier this season against Dominican. Blount caused three turnovers against Dowling on May 22.
Cama, a two-time All-ECC selection and USILA All-American, leads the nation on face-off win percentage (.713) and ground balls (184).
Meo is second in points on the team with 40 (37g, 3a), including 14 man-up goals. On eight occasions this season, he has scored at least three goals.
Messina, a two-time USILA All-American has scored 18 goals with nine assists this season for the Pioneers. He has caused eight turnovers with scooped up 20 ground balls. In Saturday's 9-8 semifinal win against Dowling, he tallied a goal and an assist.
Leonard is a three-time All-ECC selection and three-time USILA All-American, has helped contribute to one of the top defensive units in the nation. He has caused 15 turnovers and picked up 32 ground balls this season.

In other Athletic Department news, registration is still open for the C.W. Post Pioneer Sports Academy, a new summer athletic camp for children ages 7 to 17. C.W. Post's NCAA Division II varsity coaches will instruct participants in boys' lacrosse, baseball, football and basketball and girls' lacrosse, softball, basketball and field hockey. Each individual camp will be held over a one-week period, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at a cost of $450. Children will be grouped by age, skill level and experience.
