MANCHESTER, N.H. (Sept 4, 2010) - No. 8 Southern New Hampshire handed the C.W. Post men's soccer team a 3-1 loss on Saturday afternoon on Larkin Field in non-conference action.
The Pioneers slip to 0-2 on the season while SNHU improves to 2-0 overall.
The Penmen got on the board just seven and a half minutes into the game, as Danny Hernandez scored, with Michael Adams credited with the assist.
William Lindberg scored the equalizer for the Pioneers less than four minutes later on an unassisted goal at 11:28.
However, Jodan Branco scored on a Paul D'Angelo assist at 38:27 to put the Penmen on top heading into halftime, and the Pioneers could not find the back of the net to knot up the score the rest of the way, as SNHU would score an insurance goal in the 67th minute on a Paulson Edum score, with Adam adding his second assist of the game.
The Pioneers and Penmen each took 13 shots, and C.W. Post held a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks. Ed Shone (Liverpool, England) made two stops in goal for the visitors, and SNHU's Jon Mayo turned away five shots.
The Pioneers are in action next as they host Bentley on September 10 at 4 p.m. in their home opener.
