Turan Earns ECC Player of the Week
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Oct. 11, 2011) - Sophomore forward
Cemil Turan (Staten Island, N.Y.) was named the ECC Player of the Week as the conference announced its weekly awards of the year on Tuesday afternoon.
Turan scored two goals on the week, one of which was the game-winner in the 1-0 victory over 17th ranked St. Thomas Aquinas. He also scored in a 2-1 victory over Millersville and assisted on the game-winner.
Eivind Austboe (Stavanger, Norway) was named to the Honor roll. He scored one goal, but made the most of it as it went for the game-winner over Millersville, keeping the Pioneers unbeaten on the season.
C.W. Post remains at home to host NYIT on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. in another ECC game, followed by a meeting with Mercy on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
