Dragon Scores Two To Lead No. 7 Field Hockey Past No. 9 Millersville, 3-2

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Oct. 19, 2011) –
Sophomore midfielder Carlee Dragon (Bridgewater, N.J.) scored back-to-back goals to help rally No. 7 C.W. Post to a 3-2 victory over Millersville University Wednesday afternoon in a PSAC East field hockey clash.
 
C.W. Post improves to 9-6 overall and 4-5 in conference play.  Millersville slips to 7-10 overall and 1-8 in the PSAC East.
 
Dragon's two goals pushed her to the top of Division II in overall scoring with 20 goals this season.
 
The Pioneers took a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute when freshman forward Lyn-Marie Wilson (St. Michael's, Barbados) knocked in a rebound shot from Dragon.
 
Millersville evened the score minutes later when Katelyn Zapp scored on a rebound shot out front from Sarah Bomberger.  The teams finished out the first half with a 1-1 tie.
 
The Marauders went ahead in the game in the 41st minute as Kirsten Dively flipped a shot into the goal out front on a feed from Ashley Weber.
 
The Pioneers regained momentum late in the game and Dragon delivered her first goal on a hook up from Wilson, who fired a pass to her near the left corner in the 52nd minute.  The pair nearly made the same play as Dragon tipped the ball in from the left post in the 63rd minute.
 
C.W. Post outshot Millersville, 12-5, in the game.  Both teams were awarded four penalty corners apiece.
 
Senior goalkeeper Devon Trenkle (New City, N.Y.) made one save in goal.  Millersville's Sarah Dickinson posted five saves in goal.
 
C.W. Post, who is still in the hunt for a spot in the PSAC tournament, closes out its regular season at Bloomsburg on Friday, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m.
