Field Hockey Qualifies For PSAC Tournament; Pioneers Will Face West Chester In First Round

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Oct. 23, 2011) – The C.W. Post field hockey earned a spot in the six-team Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference tournament. 
 
The Pioneers, who play in the ultra-competitive East division, qualified as the No. 3 seed behind No. 1 Bloomsburg and No. 2 West Chester.  The top team in each division receives a first-round bye, which sets up C.W. Post to play at West Chester on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 4 p.m.  The winner will advance to play Bloomsburg on Friday.
 
C.W. Post (9-7, 4-6 PSAC East), under ninth-year head coach Raenee Savin, is playing in its first-ever conference tournament.  The Pioneers joined the PSAC in 2008.

* Tickets to the PSAC Quarterfinal round field hockey match at Vonnie Gros Field are $7 for adults and $2 for students and children. Students from the competing institutions with a valid school ID will be admitted free. Only PSAC passes will be honored at the gate. No complimentary tickets are available. Tickets can be purchased at the event. No advance sale is available.
