No. 7 Field Hockey Falls To No. 2 Shippensburg, 4-1, In PSAC Semifinal

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. (Oct. 28, 2011) – Shippensburg University advanced to the championship game of the PSAC Championships with a 4-1 win over No. 7 C.W. Post in the semifinal round Friday afternoon at the ROBB Sports Complex.
Shippensburg improves to 17-2 overall and will face top-ranked Bloomsburg on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. C.W. Post ends its season with a 10-7 overall record – its first winning record in three years.
Bre White led the Red Raiders with two goals in the game.
Shippensburg scored the game's first goal in the 16th minute as Taylor Jones tipped on a shot on a pass from Kristina Taylor. The Red Raiders led, 1-0, at halftime.
In the second half, Shippensburg's offense kept the pressure on and scored a pair of goals over during a two-minute rally, beginning with a goal from Jamie Levy on a pass from Emily Kohlbus in the 48th minute. Less than two minutes later, the score was 3-0 after White scored her first goal of the game on a feed from Jones.
C.W. Post, who was stifled on shots through the entire first half, finally started to find its groove and put shots on goal. Sophomore forward
Carlee Dragon (Bridgewater, N.J.), who currently leads the nation with 22 goals along with Shippensburg's Kristina Taylor, got the Pioneers on the board when she flicked in a shot on a penalty stroke in the 57th minute.
Shippensburg added one more goal from White in the 62nd minute to ice over the win.
