EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. (Oct. 7, 2011) –
Despite giving up an early lead in the game, the No. 7 C.W. Post field hockey team scored two late goals in the second half to capture a 3-2 victory over No. 10 East Stroudsburg in a PSAC East clash Friday afternoon on Whitenight Field.
 
C.W. Post improves its record to 8-4 overall and 3-3 in conference action.  East Stroudsburg slips to 6-8 overall and 1-5 in the PSAC East.
 
The Pioneers grabbed a lead early in the first half when sophomore midfielder Carlee Dragon (Bridgewater, N.J.) scored on a pass from senior defender Helene Bruckner (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) in the 12th minute.
 
The Warriors tied the game up on an unassisted goal from Gabrielle Seibert in the 27th minute and went ahead with an unassisted goal from Amanda McGuire in the 32nd minute.
 
At the break, the Warriors were outshooting the Pioneers, 15-8 and held a 9-3 advantage on penalty corners.
 
In the second half, the Pioneer offense controlled the ball on ESU's end of the field and outshot the host team by a 13-2 count.
 
The game-tying goal came in the 54th minute when junior midfielder Ashley Oracewski (Bay Shore, N.Y.) tallied her first collegiate goal.
 
The Pioneers went ahead for good when Bruckner fired a shot into the goal on a feed from Dragon in the 62nd minute.
 
Senior goalkeeper Devon Trenkle (New City, N.Y.) made 10 saves in goal to preserve the win.  ESU goalkeeper Maureen Ordnung made 14 stops in goal.
 
C.W. Post returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at West Chester University.  Game time is set for 4 p.m.
