Dragon, Wilson Earn Top Yearly Honors From ECAC; Three Pioneers Named All-Stars
CAPE COD, Mass. (Dec. 23, 2011) – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) released its 2011 field hockey All-Star team and has named sophomore
Carlee Dragon (Bridgewater, N.J.) its Offensive Player of the Year and freshman
Lyn-Marie Wilson (St. Michael's, Barbados) Rookie of the Year.
The Pioneers had three players named to the overall team, including Dragon, Wilson and junior
Kellie Finn (Goshen, Conn.).
Dragon led the Pioneers in goals (22) and points (85), ranking second in the nation in Division II in points per game (2.83) and goals per game (1.22). The sophomore started all 18 games and led the seventh-highest scoring offense in the nation, winning PSAC Offensive Player of the Year and earning a spot on the Longstreth/NFHCA Division II All-America First Team.
Wilson recorded 13 points in an impressive first season, scoring four goals and assisting on five others for the Pioneers. The St. Michael's, Barbados product helped C.W. Post finish eighth in the nation in scoring margin (0.65).
Finn started in all 18 games and made three defensive saves during the season.
C.W. Post finished its season with an overall record of 10-8 and advanced to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference for the first time ever.
