Iona Transfer Catherine Lutz Joins 2011-12 Women's Basketball Team
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (April 11, 2011) – C.W. Post head women's basketball coach Deirdre Moore announced the addition of Iona College transfer Catherine Lutz to the 2011-12 roster.
Lutz completed her undergraduate coursework at Iona and will use her final year of eligibility to play for the Pioneers as a graduate student, majoring in mental health counseling.
The Easton, Pa. native played in 29 games for the Gaels during the 2010-11 season as part of "instant offense", often coming off the bench to ignite the team with her 3-point shooting. She averaged 14 minutes a game shooting over 30 percent from the field and from 3-point range.
A four-year player at Easton Area High School, Lutz was First Team All-Conference, First Team Express Times and First Team Morning Call. She averaged 18 points per game while earning team MVP.
