Janea Aiken Announced As All-Met Division II Player Of The Year

NEW YORK (April 20, 2011) – Senior guard Janea Aiken (St. Albans, N.Y.) was named the All-Met Division II Player of the Year by the National Invitation Tournament and the Met Basketball Writers Assn.
 
A senior guard from St. Albans, N.Y., Aiken led the Pioneers with 17.8 ppg and had 4.3 rpg. Also named the ECC player of the year, she 1,104 points during her two-year career at C.W. Post to finish with 1,773.
 
Joining Aiken on the All-Met first team was Torey Jones of Caldwell, Brittany Shields of Pace, Tiffany McDaniel of Bloomfield, Amanda Bartlett of Queens and Cierra Baker of NYIT.
 
The All-Met second team included Connie Simmons of Dowling, Briana Sloper of St. Thomas Aquinas, Brittany Huggins of Pace, Quay Baskerville of Felician and Ashley Caiafa of Adelphi.
 
The All-Met awards will be presented Tuesday evening, April 26, at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, N.Y.
