ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Sept. 1, 2011) - Freshman forward Eivind Austboe (Stavanger, Norway) and sophomore forward Cemil Turan (Staten Island, N.Y.) both netted two goals and an assist apiece to lead the C.W. Post men's soccer team to a season opening non-conference victory over St. Anselm, 6-1, on Thursday evening.

Sophomore back Eirik Bjoernoe (Randaberg, Norway) opened the scoring just six minutes into the game, giving the Pioneers the early advantage with an unassisted goal at 6:08.

Austboe scored his first of the day, doubling the C.W. Post lead at 13:54, with Turan credited with the assist.

Turan found the back of the net at the thirty minute mark, with Bjoernoe assisting, to give the Pioneers a 3-0 lead.

At 34:06, the Hawks finally got on the board with a goal from Maximillian Glebocki, but three goals by the Pioneers in the first ten minutes of play in the second half put the game out of reach, as Austboe and Turan scored again, and sophomore forward Jonathon Watkin (Doncaster, England) capped the scoring for the evening.

Marco Jorgensen (Copenhagen, Denmark) earned the victory with one save in just over 72 minutes between the pipes.

The PIoneers remain in action at Skelos Field in Rockville Centre as they face off on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Holy Family.
