ECC Tabs Austboe as Player of the Week
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Sept. 12, 2011) - For the second straight week, a C.W. Post men's soccer player took home ECC Player of the Week honors, as freshman forward Eivind Austboe (Stavanger, Norway) earned the honor following a 2-0 week for the Pioneers.
Austboe, last week's Rookie of the Week, scored two goals to help the Pioneer last week, and both went for game-winners as he continues to pace the Pioneers with five goals on the season. His second-half goal against the Clippers helped C.W. Post complete a comeback over Concordia and earn a 2-1 victory. Against Dominican, his first-half tally was the difference maker as the Pioneers held off the Chargers, 1-0
In addition, Marco Jorgensen (Copenhagen, Denmark), was named to the weekly honor roll after posted two wins for C.W. Post, allowing only one goal on the week and picking up a shutout. He maade eight saves, six coming in a 1-0 blanking of Dominican.
The Pioneers travel to Bentley on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., looking to extend their win streak to five games.
