14-Point Week Earns Dragon PSAC East Athlete Of The Week Honor
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (Sept. 19, 2011) – Sophomore midfielder
Carlee Dragon (Bridgewater, N.J.) of the C.W. Post field hockey team was recognized as this week's PSAC East Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Dragon recorded a total of six goals and two assists for 14 points to help lead C.W. Post to a 2-1 week, including a PSAC East overtime win over No. 10 East Stroudsburg in which she scored the game-winning goal. In fact, Dragon scored both goals in the Pioneers' 2-1 win over the Warriors last Tuesday, which snapped an 11-game losing streak to East Stroudsburg that dated back to the 2002 season. She then scored Post's only goal of the game in a 6-1 loss to Shippensburg in a crossover game on Friday. Dragon then notched a hat trick and also recorded two assists, having a stick in five of Post's six goals in a 6-1 win over Mansfield on Saturday. She scored twice just 36 seconds apart in the first half to turn a slim 1-0 lead into a 3-0 advantage.
