Men's Soccer Tabbed Third in ECC Preseason Poll
Central Islip, N.Y. - C.W. Post men's soccer was predicted to finish third in the ECC, ast voted on by the league's coaches. The Pioneers finished last season with a 7-8-1 record, and return eight letterwinners to this year's squad.
The defending ECC Tournament Champion Dowling has been selected as the preseason favorite, and sophomore forward Markus Naglestad from the University of Bridgeport was named the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and senior defender, Vladimir Milosavljevic from Dowling was voted the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
Dowling claimed five first place votes and tallied 59 points to take the top spot in the poll. The Golden Lions took home both the regular season and ECC Championship titles a season ago, finishing with a 12-2-6 record.
Bridgeport ranked second on the poll, grabbing the one first place vote for a total 50 points. C.W. Post was close behind with 47 points, as well as one first place vote.
