No. 3 Men's Soccer Rolls Over Queens, 8-2

Cemil Turan (Staten Island, N.Y.) registered a hat trick, while senior
Andreas Olson (Oppeid, Norway) scored two goals as the No. 3 LIU Post men's soccer team ran away with an 8-2 East Coast Conference victory over Queens College on Saturday afternoon.
The Pioneers improve to 14-1 overall and 7-1 in conference action, while Queens dips to 7-5-3 overall and 3-3-2 in conference action.
Danny Stoker got the Knights on the board in the opening minutes with a goal coming off a Glen Reid assist, and the Pioneers were caught a bit on their heels in the early going.
But the potent offense would not stay quiet long, and Turan took over quickly, scoring three consecutive goals, all in the first half, to firmly cement the Pioneers with a lead.
Olson scored five miutes into the second half, and QC's Tyler Iocco countered with a goal at 57:03 to make it a 4-2 game, but junior
Jonathon Watkin (Doncaster, England) lined a low shot off a deflected corner to push the cushion back to three, while Olson struck again in the 67th minute to make it 6-2.
Freshmen
Cameron Gamble (North Lanarkshire, Scotland) and
Elias Johansson (Landskrona, Sweden) each scored their first collegiate goals, respectively, to make the score 8-2 in favor of the hosts.
Junior goalkeeper
Marco Jorgensen (Copenhagen, Denmark) made two saves in almost 70 minutes of action, and
Victor Muntean (Westbury, N.Y.) kept Queens scoreless in his 20 minutes in net.
The Pioneers held an 18-7 shot advantage, while each team generated one corner kick.
