Football Falls In PSAC Crossover To Gannon, 45-6

ERIE, Pa. (Nov. 10, 2012) – Gannon University scored 21 unanswered points in the first half en route to a 45-6 victory of LIU Post Saturday afternoon in a non-conference football clash at Gannon University Field.
 
The victory improves Gannon's overall mark to 3-8 overall while LIU Post's record dips to 3-6.
 
The Golden Knights scored the game's first touchdown in the first quarter with an 8-yard touchdown pass from Liam Nadler to Jansen Jones.  Jones scampered into the endzone from the 2-yard line in the second quarter to push the lead to 14-0.  Gannon added another score on before the end of the half when Joe Sabucki hauled in a 58-yard pass from Nadler with 2:59 on the clock. 
 
In the third quarter, the Golden Knights added onto their lead with three more scores.  Nadler completed another 58-yard touchdown pass, this time to Justin Caliste at 12:21.  Matt Szczupakowski kicked a 38-yard field goal at 7:28 that was followed four minutes later with another Golden Knight touchdown as Nadler connected to Sobucki for a 49-yard completion.
 
The Pioneers got on the board in the fourth quarter when junior running back Jeff Mack (Bronx, N.Y.) ran in for a 1-yard touchdown at 11:29. 
 
Gannon matched the Pioneers' score with its sixth touchdown coming on a 2-yard run from Everett Tune Jr. with 7:27 remaining in regulation.
 
Nadler finished the day passing for 335 yards and four touchdowns.  Caliste caught eight passes for 137 yards and one touchdown.  Sobucki hauled in two catches for 107 yards and two touchdowns.
 
Sophomore Steven Laurino (Boise, Idaho) completed 12 of 28 pass attempts for 131 yards and two touchdowns.  Junior Joe Botti (Holtsville, N.Y.) caught two passes for 81 yards while senior Grayson Laurino (Boise, Idaho), who also took reps at quarterback and punter, led the team in rushing with 45 yards.
 
LIU Post will play its final game of the season next Saturday at Kutztown at 1:05 p.m.
