Jorgensen Named Capital One Academic All-American

Marco Jorgensen (Copenhagen, Denmark) was named to the Capital One Academic All-America® NCAA Division II Men's Soccer First Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The Capital One Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2011-12 D-II Academic All-America® teams program.
Jorgensen was the only junior selected to the first team. A political science and economics major with a 3.98 G.P.A., Jorgensen was the East Coast Conference Goalkeeper of the Year in 2012. A native of Copenhagen, Denmark, Jorgensen led LIU Post to an 18-2 overall record, an ECC championship and the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Division II East Region. He also earned Daktronics All-East Region first team honors after posting a 0.99 Goals Against Average that included four shutouts and an .806 save percentage.
