Siopa, Scala And Jackson Named To NFF Hampshire Honor Society

DALLAS (June 5, 2012) – The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) recently recognized LIU Post seniors John Siopa (Centereach, N.Y.), Andrew Jackson (Middletown, N.Y.) and Lou Scala (Coram, N.Y.) to its NFF Hampshire Honor Society.
 
Siopa was a two-time PSAC East All-Conference and ECAC All-Star selection and played in 35 career games on the offensive line.  He was also a member of the Alpha Phi Sigma Criminal Justice Honor Society during his career. 
 
Scala, who suited up in 33 games during his four years with the Pioneers, was a PSAC East First Team as well as an ECAC All-Star selection in 2011.  In 11 games, he totaled 70 tackles, including 14 for loss.
 
Jackson played in 39 career games for LIU Post.  Last season, he made 36 tackles, including 5.5 sacks on the defensive line.
 
LIU Post, who finished the season with a 7-4 overall record that included a 6-1 mark in the PSAC East, opens its season on Sept. 8 at home against Clarion University.
