Bjoernoe's Three Assists Lead No. 22 Men's Soccer Past Assumption, 3-0

Eirik Bjoernoe (Randaberg, Norway) helped propel the No. 22 LIU Post men's soccer to a 3-0 victory over Assumption College on Thursday evening in non-conference men's soccer action.
LIU Post improves to 3-0 overall while Assumption evens at 1-1.
The Pioneers struck quickly in the match, earning a corner kick just two minutes and 39 seconds into play, then getting on the board at 2:58 as Bjoernoe assisted on sophomore
Oscar Kjellstrom's (Stenungsund, Sweden) first goal of the season.
The Pioneers wasted little time in doubling up their lead as Bjoernoe fed
Bas Beverwijk (Zwolle, Netherlands) for the game's second goal at 5:04.
Two minutes later, the Pioneers struck again as
Eivind Austboe (Stavanger, Norway) found the back of the net on Bjoernoe's third helper of the evening.
The Pioneers continued to pepper the AIC goal with shots, holding a 12-2 advantage in the first half. Taking a 3-0 lead into halftime, the Pioneers were not seriously challenged the remainder of the contest, with Assumption managing just three shots in the second half (five total) compared to nine in the latter half and 21 for the game.
Junior goalkeeper
Marco Jorgensen (Copenhagen, Denmark) needed to make just two saves to earn his first shutout of the season, while Greyhound keeper Dana King stopped four shots.
Next up for the Pioneers is a trip to American International for a 1 p.m. contest on Saturday afternoon.
