Dragon, Crouse Earn Northeast-10 Weekly Accolades
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. (Oct. 28, 2013) - On Monday, the Northeast-10 Conference released its weekly field hockey report, and senior forward Carlee Dragon (Bridgewater, N.J.) and graduate midfielder Dani Crouse (Westville, South Africa) received Player and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.
LIU Post (16-0, 8-0 NE-10) picked up another two wins this week, with an 8-0 win over Mercy, and a 4-1 triumph versus Saint Anselm.
Dragon led the third-ranked Pioneers to a 2-0 week with a team-high 11 points on four goals and three assists. In the Pioneers' 4-1 over Saint Anselm on Oct. 26, the Bridgewater, N.J. native tallied two goals and assisted on the other two LIU Post markers on the afternoon.
On the year, Dragon has a total of 66 points and 14 assists, which top the nation, along with 26 goals, good for second in the country.
Crouse anchored the defense that holds the best scoring margin in the nation at 3.61. They held their opponents to one goal, while the Pioneers scored 12 goals in their two wins. LIU Post overwhelmed its opponents with 55 shot attempts to four and a penalty corner advantage of 47-5. Crouse added three points against Mercy on Oct. 22, with one goal and one assist.
The Pioneers are back in action on Tuesday (Oct. 29) at 4 p.m. for a Northeast-10 battle against American International at Hickox Field in Brookville, N.Y.
