Dragon, Crouse Repeat as NE-10's Top Weekly Award Winners

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. (Nov. 4, 2013) - On Monday, the Northeast-10 Conference released its weekly field hockey report, and senior forward Carlee Dragon (Bridgewater, N.J.) and graduate midfielder Dani Crouse (Westville, South Africa) received Player and Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second-straight week, respectively.
 
Dragon picks up her fifth player of the week honor, while Crouse has now been named the defensive player of the week three times.

LIU Post (18-0, 10-0 NE-10) picked up another two wins this week, with an 8-1 rout of AIC on Oct. 29, and a thrilling 4-3 overtime triumph against Stonehill on Nov. 2. 

Dragon and Crouse combined for 12 points in the Pioneers' 8-1 victory over AIC. Dragon finished with three goals and an assist, while Crouse added a goal and three assists to power the green and gold.

In the regular-season finale against Stonehill, Dragon tallied a goal, and Crouse dished out two helpers to cap off a perfect 18-0 year for the Pioneers.

Dragon and Crouse have anchored an LIU Post team that currently tops the nation in scoring average at 4.52 goals per game, and also has the best scoring margin in the country at 3.64.

The green and gold are gearing up for the Northeast-10 Championship, set to start on Tuesday. Head Coach Raenee Savin and the Pioneers await the winner of the game between No. 5 Bentley and No. 4 Adelphi. The Pioneers will host the victor on Friday (Nov. 8) at 1 p.m. at Hickox Field in a semifinal contest.
