2013 NSCAA Division II All-America Men's Soccer Team

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Dec. 17, 2013)
- The NSCAA recently announced its 2013 Division II All-America Men's Soccer Team, and LIU Post had a pair of players honored. Senior midfielder Jonathon Watkin (Doncaster, England) and junior forward Eivind Austboe (Stavanger, Norway) were both named to the first-team.

Watikin amassed 16 points in 2013, off six goals, which ranked 10th-best in the East Coast Conference, and four assists. Two of those tallies were game-winners, including the deciding goal with 2.8 seconds left in a 2-1 league tournament semifinal win against Mercy (Nov. 6). As a result, Watkin was also chosen to the NSCAA All-Region and All-ECC first-team, in addition to the Daktronics All-Region second-team.

Austboe, the ECC Offensive and Daktronics National Player of the Year, took Division II by storm this season, totaling 24 goals and 10 assists for a 58-point output. His goal and point totals were tops in the conference, while the Stavanger, Norway native's assist mark placed second-best. Furthermore, Austboe was slotted third in the nation in goals, goals per game and points per game, and fourth in total points.

Watkin, Austboe and the Pioneers concluded the year at 18-2-2 overall and 8-0-2 in East Coast Conference play. LIU Post captured its second-straight league crown as well, and advanced to the NCAA Division II East Region title match, before eventually succumbing to national champion Southern New Hampshire, 3-1.
