IRVINE, Calif. (Jan. 24, 2014) - On Friday, LIU Post senior men's soccer standouts Eirik Bjoernoe (Randaberg, Norway) and Marco Jorgensen (Copenhagen, Denmark) will be two of more than 80 invited players to participate in the 2014 North American Soccer League Player Combine at UC Irvine in Irvine, Calif.

Two straight days of tripleheader matches and training sessions on Friday (Jan. 24) and Saturday (Jan. 25) kick off the NASL Combine. It will then conclude Sunday (Jan. 26) with a full- and small-sized game.

Former United States Men's National Team Assistant Coach Ralph Perez, who is working alongside NASL team coaches, will be on hand to assist in the scouting and search of talent.

In his final season with the Pioneers, Bjoernoe led the East Coast Conference's third-best defensive unit, which yielded only a 0.97 goals-against average clip. He also managed to find the scoresheet, notching five goals and nine assists for a 19-point output. As a result, the Randaberg, Norway product earned ECC Defensive Player of the Year honors, alongside Daktronics and NSCAA All-Region first-team kudos.

Minding the net, Jorgensen, a CoSIDA Academic All-America first-team and All-ECC second-team choice, went 18-2-2 (five shutouts) with 95 stops, a 1.00 GAA, and an .819 save percentage. Amongst the league's best goalkeepers, he paved the way in wins and saves, while ranking second in save percentage, fourth in shutouts, fifth in goals-against average, and seventh in total goals allowed.
