KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Oct. 28, 2014) - On Tuesday, the LIU Post women's soccer team jumped up six spots to No. 16 in the NSCAA/Continental Tire Division II Top-25 Poll.

The Pioneers are coming off a pair of vital 1-0 wins against Philadelphia U. (Oct. 20) and then-No. 13 Mercy (Oct. 25). At Philadelphia, junior forward Susanne Vistnes (Randaberg, Norway) scored with just 41 seconds remaining in regulation to give LIU Post the 1-0 win. Then, at Mercy, senior back Lauren Bellone (West Islip, N.Y.) struck the netting in the 67th minute to propel the green and gold to the upset.

Vistnes is currently tied for second in the nation with 15 goals in 2014. Her 37 total points are good enough for third in the country as well. Through the team's first 14 games, the LIU Post defense has allowed just eight goals (.561 goals-against average). That number ranks 22nd amongst the Division II elite.

Head Coach Mark Dawson and the Pioneers return to action on Friday (Nov. 1), when they take on Roberts Wesleyan in an East Coast Conference battle in Rochester, N.Y. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m.
