Margiotta, Crouse Highlight Weekly NE-10 Accolades

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. (Nov. 3, 2014) - Coming off a combined four-goal, three-assist showing in LIU Post's two victories last week, junior forward Keliann Margiotta (Sewell, N.J.) and graduate defender Dani Crouse (Westville, South Africa) were named the Northeast-10 Conference Player and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, on Monday. It is the fifth time this season Margiotta has collected the award, while Crouse has earned the honor three times.

Margiotta continues to be an offensive powerhouse for the green and gold. On the week, Margiotta's three goals and two assists aided the Pioneers to two league victories over No. 7 Adelphi (Oct. 29) and Saint Michael's (Nov. 1). At Adelphi, the Sewell native netted two goals and added two assists in LIU Post's five-goal offensive strike. Then, at Saint Michael's, Margiotta accounted for the only goal of the contest.

The junior currently boasts 24 goals and 10 assists on the year, good for 58 points, while leading all of Division II with a 1.91 goals-per-game average.

Crouse remains both an offensive and defensive anchor for the Pioneers. Against Adelphi, the Westville native scored the first goal of the game, finding the back of the cage off a converted penalty corner. In the green and gold's victory over Saint Michael's, she assisted on the only tally of the match, and commanded a back line that yielded no shots to the opposition.

In 2014, Crouse has registered seven goals and five assists for a 19-point output, while securing a defensive unit that ranks No. 2 in the nation with a 2.78 scoring margin.

Margiotta, Crouse and the Pioneers are back in action Tuesday (Nov. 4), when they host NE-10 opponent Southern New Hampshire at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium at 2:30 p.m.
