ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Mar. 29, 2014) - On Saturday, eight different players recorded at least one point for the green and gold, as the No. 1 LIU Post women's lacrosse team bested Roberts Wesleyan, 19-6, in East Coast Conference action in Rochester, N.Y.
Senior attacker
Jackie Sileo (Wantagh, N.Y.) posted her second-straight eight-point showing, amassing two goals and six assists. She is now a mere four points shy of becoming the NCAA's all-time leading scorer. Junior midfielder

Katie Rotan (West Islip, N.Y.), who scooped up four ground balls, and senior attacker/midfielder
Samantha Losco (Smithtown, N.Y.) chipped in hat tricks as well.

Morgan Chiarenza (Nesconset, N.Y.) and freshman attacker
Stefani Vagelatos (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) each finished with five points. Chiarenza collected four goals and an assist, while Vagelatos totaled three markers and two helpers. Junior defender

Connor Bird (Syosset, N.Y.) won six and four draw controls, respectively. Losco added three draws of her own.
Trailing by a goal nearly five minutes in, the Pioneers (10-0, 3-0 ECC) rolled off a 7-0 run over an eight-plus minute stretch to grab a 7-1 lead at the 16:22 mark. Rotan paved the way in the burst, scoring three times. Sileo and Pierro each dished off a pair of assists.
The Redhawks (4-7, 1-2 ECC) battled back though, and closed the gap to 8-4 with 1:36 left on a Cassley Jackowski (Lafayette, N.Y.) free-position tally. Yet, the visitors struck twice in the final minute to head into the intermission up 10-4. Vagelatos and Losco both found the back of the cage in a span of 26 seconds.
In the latter stanza, LIU Post put the game away from the start, recording eight of the first nine goals to widen its margin to an insurmountable 18-5. Three different Pioneers (Chiarenza, Sileo, Vagelatos) notched two goals apiece in the streak. Sileo coupled the two tallies with three helpers.
For the game, the green and gold more than doubled up their opposition in shots (37-14) and draws (21-6). LIU Post also held a slight 19-17 edge in ground balls, and was a perfect 12-of-12 on clears. Both squads were 3-for-4 (75.0 percent) on free-position shots.

Katie Hannan (Gansevoort, N.Y.) made six saves in 50:59 minutes of work. Roberts Wesleyan's Victoria Link (Amherst, N.Y.) and Paige Higgins (Springville, N.Y.) combined for 11 stops.
