				Box Score BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Apr. 25, 2014) - The LIU Post baseball team was held scoreless in Friday night's series opener against Bridgeport, falling to the Purple Knights, 5-0, at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, Conn.
The Pioneers (15-14, 8-9 ECC) were able to collect five hits, but weren't able to push any runs across the board against Bridgeport's (15-22-1, 9-12 ECC) pitcher Brian O'Keefe, who tossed a complete-game shutout for his fifth win.
The Purple Knights scored two in the fifth, two in the sixth and another in the eighth for their ninth conference victory.
Senior 
Tom Tolan (Malverne, N.Y.) and freshman 
Thomas Asbaty (Randolph, N.J.) each had two hits, while junior 
Angel Vidal (Sheepshead Bay, N.Y.) recorded another.
Freshman 
Brian Tinney (Farmingdale, N.Y.) was saddled with his first career loss, allowing four earned runs in 5.2 innings.
LIU Post is back in action Saturday (Apr. 26), when it continues its four-game set against Bridgeport with a doubleheader in Brookville, N.Y. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
