Jez Named CaptainU Division II Men's Lacrosse Coach of the Year
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (June 10, 2014) - After leading the Pioneers to the program's eighth NCAA Division II National Championship game, LIU Post men's lacrosse head coach
John Jez has been recognized by CaptainU as the Div. II Men's Lacrosse Coach of the Year.
In his eighth season as the head coach of the Pioneers, Jez mentored the green and gold to the national title game and an 11-6 record in 2014. In all, Jez coached four USILA All-Americans and 10 All-ECC players
Late in the season, with a 9-5 record, LIU Post was on the outside looking in. But, a win in the inaugural East Coast Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship propelled the Pioneers to an NCAA tournament birth for the second-straight year. The green and gold rattled off impressive wins against Le Moyne and Adelphi in the first two rounds before falling to Limestone in the national championship game at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md.
