Jorgensen Inks Professional Contract
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Aug. 21, 2014) - Former LIU Post men's soccer standout goalkeeper
Marco Jorgensen (Copenhagen, Denmark) has signed a professional contract with FC Midtjylland, a Danish club competing in the UEFA Europa League.
Currently, FC Midtjylland is among the best teams in Scandinavia and sits atop the standings in the Danish Top Division, going 5-0 in their first five contests.
In his senior season at LIU Post, Jorgensen was showered with postseason honors. He was a CoSIDA Academic All-America first-team and an All-East Coast Conference second-team choice, while going 18-2-2 in net with five shutouts. The keeper also recorded 95 saves, alongside a 1.00 goals-against average and an .819 save percentage. Amongst the league's best goalies, he paved the way in wins and saves, while ranking second in save percentage, fourth in shutouts, fifth in goals-against average, and seventh in total goals allowed.
