BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Sept. 17, 2014) - On Wednesday, the LIU Post men's soccer team used an offensive onslaught and a stellar defensive effort to blank Millersville, 3-0, in a non-conference tilt at Pioneer Soccer Park in Brookville.
The Pioneers (3-2-0) outshot the Marauders (1-3-1), 27-7, and held a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
LIU Post opened the scoring in the 22nd minute. Graduate midfielder
Tom Bowen (Aberdovey, Wales, U.K.) connected on a free kick from just outside the box, beating Millersville's David Brubaker for a 1-0 advantage.

In the second half, LIU Post used speed to get behind the Millersville defense. Freshman

Later, in the 72nd minute, junior midfielder
Matias Ruiz (Southampton, N.Y.) sent a through ball to a trailing
Dale McDonald (Roosevelt, N.Y.), who ripped a shot from the top of the box for the Pioneers' third tally.
