Field Hockey Rises to Sixth in Latest NFHCA Poll

CHANDLER, Ariz. (Sept. 30, 2014) - The LIU Post field hockey team has moved up one spot to sixth in the latest 2014 Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II Poll, released Tuesday.

The Pioneers (3-1), in their only competition last week, defeated then-No. 5 East Stroudsburg, 4-1. Junior forward Keliann Margiotta (Sewell, N.J.) accounted for three of the four goals and led LIU Post's offensive strike, while freshman Kaycee Zelkovsky (Lambertville, N.J.) found the back of the cage for her first collegiate goal. Between the pipes, sophomore goalkeeper Ericka Parks (Nesconset, N.Y.) made two saves.

Millersville retained the top-overall spot in the tally, whereas Shippensburg (No. 2) and West Chester (No. 3) flipped positions from last week's rankings. Stonehill and Limestone rounded out the Top-5.

Head Coach Raenee Savin and the Pioneers are back in action on Tuesday (Sept. 30), when they face Adelphi in their 2014 home and Northeast-10 Conference opener in Brookville, N.Y. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
