MILLERSVILLE, Pa. (Jan. 24, 2015) - The LIU Post wrestling team suffered a 28-16 loss to Millersville Saturday in a road dual at Pucillo Gymnasium.

Following a loss via decision at 125 to start the match, the Pioneers (2-12) took the next two bouts to grab an 8-3 lead. Freshman Joe Calderone (Huntington Station, N.Y.) won by technical fall (17-1) versus Millersville's (6-4) Sam Oberlander (Palmerton, Pa.) at 133, while junior Jesse Meaney (Toms River, N.J.) defeated Thomas Nulty (Freehold, N.J.), 5-1, in the 141-lb. weight class.

The Marauders then rolled off a streak of four consecutive victories, before LIU Post battled back. Trailing 22-8 after seven matches, freshman Ronnie King (Islip, N.Y.) picked up a 5-2 victory against Kyle Narber (York, Pa.) at 184 to keep the Pioneers alive in the dual.

In the ensuing bout at 197 lbs., senior Chris DiIorio (Holtsville, N.Y.) teched Zack Yackenchick (Schuykill Haven, Pa.), 26-11, to close the gap of the team score to six points (22-16).

Now needing a pin to tie, freshman James Louison (Hauppauge, N.Y.) got pinned by David Wuestner (Hummelstown, Pa.) in the final match of the afternoon, securing the win for the hosts.

Head Coach Joe Patrovich and his LIU Post squad return to the mat on Sunday (Feb. 1), when they compete at the Wildcat Open, hosted by Johnson & Wales in Providence, R.I.
