CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Jan. 28, 2015) - The LIU Post men's and women's indoor track and field teams each ranked sixth in the 2015 East Coast Conference Coaches' Poll, as released by the league office on Wednesday.
The Pioneers have competed in four indoor meets thus far in the 2014-15 campaign. They opened the season at the Bill Ward Invitational (Dec. 8), before ringing in the New Year at the Yale Invitational (Jan. 10), St. Joseph's Winter Invitational (Jan. 17) and the Metro Team Challenge (Jan. 23).
Highlighted by the efforts of freshman Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.), junior Elizabeth Stirling (Wantagh, N.Y.), graduate Dale McDonald (Roosevelt, N.Y.), freshman Bjorn Bjornsson (Levittown, N.Y.) and red-shirt sophomore Mike Scott (Fultonville, N.Y.), the green and gold have made a strong return to varsity competition.
LIU Post will next compete at the two-day Armory Track Invitational on Jan. 30-31 at the New Balance Track and Field Center in New York.
